The West Kowloon Cultural District Park has succeffully proceeded to the construction phase since this year's spring. Images shown here the site is being prepared for the great transformation. Based on the masterplan of the entire Cultural Disctrict by Norman Forster, West 8 designed the West Kowloon Cultural District Park since 2014, in collaboration with local partners in Hong Kong DLN and ACLA, alongside WKCD Authority in the Park Development. West 8 continues our role as construction supervisor for the execution of project and inspected the mock-up models of one our design features: a façade combined sitting element which was being tested last month.

A milestone for 't Zand Square in Bruges
On Monday morning March 27, the first new trees arrived 't Zand Square in Bruges. 22 lime trees will be planted in the coming days. These trees are 22 or 23 years old and placed in the 'trees bunkers’: underground concrete structures that form a solid base for the application of subsurface soil for the trees. They will be planted neatly before the Easter holiday when tourists and patrons will be arriving again at the welcoming terraces at the sidewalk of the square. Construction of the square itself will continue until next year summer, when eventually in total 107 lime trees will be planted.

An independent committee has reviewed the submitted plans and decided that Made By Holland meets an extensive set of criteria to redevelope the Soestdijk Palace and Estate. These include sustainability, appropriateness and financial credibility. Representative of developing partners Westergasfabriek's Maya Meijer-Bergmans, Mark de Kruijk and West 8's Adriaan Geuze as lead designer explained at a public presentation their vision of the project.
